Fall Lures
#1
Mepps Aglia #1
Color: Silver/Black · Size: #1 (1/6 oz)
Cast along emergent vegetation edges and retrieve steadily with occasional pauses; the vibration and flash cut through stained water and trigger reaction strikes from perch holding in shallow weed structure.
Stained water + emergent vegetation + rising pressure + cold water (39°F) demands a vibrating, high-visibility bait; inline spinners excel at drawing perch from shallow cover in low-clarity conditions.
#2
Berkley Flicker Shad #5
Color: Perch · Size: #5 (2 inches)
Cast into open water and retrieve with a steady, rhythmic cadence; the tight wobble and natural perch profile mimic forage in the shallows where fall perch congregate.
Open water + stained clarity + recent rain runoff + natural forage match (perch-pattern crankbait) makes this the ideal shallow-diving option for covering open-water structure.
#3
Bobby Garland Baby Shad 1.5"
Color: Chartreuse Pepper · Size: 1.5 inch
Drop shot rig fished vertically or with subtle hops along sand/mud transitions near emergent vegetation; the small profile and finesse presentation work when rising pressure makes perch cautious.
Rising barometric pressure + cold water (39°F) + medium fishing pressure requires a finesse, natural-profile bait; drop shot on sand/mud structure near vegetation edges is a proven perch technique in fall.
